I can't believe it's taken me this long to find this place and I've lived pretty much around the corner for about 10 years. When you first pull into the driveway, it's in the back of the complex and once we walked in, I was very surprised to see it as big as it was inside because it looks like a hole in the wall from the outside. We arrived at approximately 6:00 pm and we were the only ones in the restaurant but that sure changed quickly as I noticed a lot of the tables had a reserved sign on them and the others that didn't sure filled up quickly. When we walked into the restaurant we were greeted immediately and quickly seated to wherever we would like to sit. The waiter brought us the menu's and asked if we wanted something to drink. We ordered a pitcher of Sapparo to start out with and glanced through the menu but seeing how I I found this restaurant on yelp and went through all the pictures, I knew pretty much what I wanted to order. I ordered the butter crab pasta while the partner ordered the carbonera pasta with extra bacon and my goodness they do not disappoint on there portions. I absolutely loved my crab butter pasta because it was very different from Italian pasta where as this restaurant put I believe it was some seaweed on top of the pasta and it was drenched in this creamy sauce that was magnificent. The partners pasta was also filled with flavor but most importantly they were not cheap with there bacon although we did ask for extra bacon, I would love to see what it looks like without the extra anything. The service was great and the gentleman who served us knew his pasta but doesn't know his wines to go with the pasta but that's ok because I can drink the wines they have and figure it out myself. This is my new go to spot for pasta as I would love to try there whole menu and recommend anyone that is near this place to give it a try and judge for yourself.

Great French Restaurant and Bar! I visited last night with a friend to catch up over some drinks and food. Started with a Hibiki Harmony on the rocks (or one giant ice cube), then moved onto their wines. For food I ordered the spicy bean sprouts and squid ink pasta.
Seriously.... who would think that bean sprouts would be a good appetizer? Definitely not me, but then my friend highly recommended it. Upon trying the dish, I was a believer. The bean sprouts are cooked to perfection where they are soft but still have a bit of crunch left to them. And they soak the sprouts into some sort of sauce with beef.
Their squid ink was also impressive. Word of advice to those who don't know how to eat pasta neatly - the squid ink is very black and can get very messy, so be careful! But I must say, the squid ink pasta was cook almost al dente and had some great flavors. I noticed hints of citrus mixed into the ink sauce.
Overall impression is that you'll find it a great dining experience. The pasta is japanese style and the drinks are awesome. I thought the pricing was a bit on the high side for what you get, but I wouldn't mind coming back again. -

Japanese Italian bar food.
A 4 word phrase that should be right up there with "all day happy hour", "all you can eat", and "no minimum order size". Okay, maybe a bit of an exaggeration, but if you have tried Italian food done the Japanese way you might agree.
I come for the squid ink pasta, spaghetti and meat sauce, mushroom and uni, and seafood soup risotto and can't recommend them enough. The dishes might sound a bit pedestrian, but that Japanese flair makes them special. Perfectly seasoned, just al-dente enough, with the right balance of umami and acid bring these Italian dishes to that next crave-worthy level.
This place also has bunch of different whiskeys and wine that compliments their fusion fare. You can have yourself a glass of Japanese whiskey or Scotch, or they have whiskey flights if you can't decide. The Japanese whiskey's are seasonal, so I like to try different ones when they offer them.
PS. After watching City of Gold, I feel both guilt and inspiration writing this Yelp review. -

The pasta with creamy crab sauce was excellent with the small pieces of crab mixed through so you could taste it in every bite. Service a bit slow, but overall it was a good experience.

Pricey for the amount and quality of food. They are open very late so it's great if you want Japanese food with drinks. Atmosphere is great as well as the servers. Servers are attentive, friendly, and easy to get along.
